Product Care
Natural dyes are different to modern synthetic dyes in many ways. They are beautiful to touch & they have a life and soul to them that cannot be compared to chemically derived dyes. Like most things worthwhile, they do require some care in order to maintain their beauty & increase their longevity.

Store all products out of sunlight.
Do not use any perfume / chemicals on the product.
Acidic liquids such as citrus, wine, vinegar, etc.or alkaline liquids such as alka seltzer, hydrogen peroxide, calcium, baking soda, etc. are some things that can change the color of your naturally dyed goods.
For Silk Scrunchies - Spot clean with water if needed.
For Silk Scarves and Pillow covers - Hand wash in cool water with Ph neutral soap, do not use softener, do not rub , do not wring and dry in shade. Iron on medium high when damp and store away from light.
For Cotton products - Hand wash in cool water with PH neutral soap, do not use softener, do not rub or wring. Dry in shade. Iron on high when dry and store away from light.
What Detergent Should you Use?
Many dyes are pH sensitive, meaning they will respond to changes in pH, which can result in the color of the dye changing. Some dyes are more sensitive to changes in pH than others. Even though when dyeing the product this can be a great way to achieve different colors, these changes might be unexpected when it happens accidentally or your detergent does it.
When it comes to washing your naturally dyed goods,we recommend a quick hand wash in cold water with a fabric detergent that is Eco-friendly/natural, free from chemicals & pH neutral. Do not soak . Soaps that may be perfumed or oils, may change the color of the dyes in the wash. Pure Castile Soap is pH neutral & works as a wonderful detergent.
If you do get a splash of food on your naturally dyed item, we recommend running it under the cold water and gently use your fingers to try to encourage loosening the stain from the fibers.
Drying Your Naturally Dyed Goods:
When drying your pieces, ideally hang them outside to dry in shade. Avoid drying your pieces in direct sunlight, if the sun is very harsh is may lighten or fade your colors considerably. If drying the pieces outside is not an option , hang them to dry on a clothes rack or a wooden hanger works well too. Avoid laying flat or placing on radiators to dry, as they may develop marks where they are in contact with the metal of the radiators.
Storing your naturally dyed item :
Keeping your naturally dyed item out of direct sunlight is critical. Sunlight bleaches natural hues at a rapid pace. We suggest keeping items in drawers or windowless closets or keeping it in the reusable box provided with your product.
A card with care instructions is also enclosed in the packaging along with your purchase.
With a little bit of care you can keep your naturally dyed textiles looking beautiful for years to come.
